The greatest lesson that was ever
taught in my mind comes from the sermon on the mount as it is known
by in the new testament. The multitude fed from the 7 loaves and a
few fish. The lesson is not in the miracle that so many could be fed
by that little amount of food but in the fact that it didn't matter
who was present in that crowd, what race someone might have been,
their sexual preference of religious belief they might have held,
everyone was included. As the story goes, Jesus, the Christ,
commanded his disciples to go and pass out the food and never once
told them to make sure that before you feed them that they are just
like us. They may look and even believe differently from us but it
makes no matter. All are to be treated with the same respect. All
should be served with the same kindness. All are to be included.
Today, christianity for the most part
seems to not resemble the Christ they claim to be followers of.
Today, christians have got the habit of putting walls in place that
exclude others from receiving the same respect, love and kindness
that their saviour showed them was the way others of all walks should
be treated. It's as if an old statement has been turned around and
that today, christians love their sin and show hate to the sinner.
Christians, your Christ commanded you
to love. Excluding others, not showing them the love of your Christ
shows them that you are not a follower of Christ at all. You need to
do one of two things, start showing that love to all by including
them in all ways or stop calling yourself a follower of Christ.
